OOTD: Seamless Motion Capturing

Several weeks ago I met up with my friend Meagan, as you can see she is super talented behind the camera. She had an art project that needed completing for her photography class. The assignment was to do a shot all about capturing motion. She had to capture multiple images and combine them into one photo creating a seamless action shot. Naturally, it was a chance of severe thunderstorms and we went to a park surrounded by metal objects to get the shots we needed.

My outfit:
Denim shirt is from Forever 21. It has sporadic white letters (B, L, A). I wore a white pocket V-neck and my black Rockstar Old Navy jeans. My sunglasses are from Target and my lipstick, is well, this might shock you, Sephora Matte Lip Cream in 003 Strawberry Kiss.

I decided to be truly obnoxious with my facial expressions on the swing set. Guys, it takes a lot of guts to jump 6 inches from the ground off of a swing. As usually we had an absolutely hilarious time during the shoot, as after.

OOTD: Getting my Indiana Jones On

My best friend and her husband (whoa, that was a weird to type...) visited my lovely city several weekends ago. We had a blast shopping, exploring the city, and just being around each other. I forget just how awesome these people are and then I spend about 30 minutes with them and yep, my friends rock.

I did some outfit pictures and purchased a little something that I have completely fallen in love with...a hat. Yeah, I bought a hat; more specifically, I bought a burgundy wide brimmed hat. I looked a little like Indian Jones and Carmen San Diego but, nope, don't care.

I bought it AFTER I thought my outfit was completed. Granted, I liked my outfit without the hat, but I couldn't resist.

I hope you all are enjoying September as much as I am.

The boots are from Target. I purchased them last year after falling in love with $500 Ash boots. Yeah, this is a close as I am going to get to those for quite sometime. Also, I made a cheeky little jewelry purchase... Alex and Anil Phoenix Wrap in gold. It has a bit of meaning behind it...maybe I will share in a later post. My trusty Old Navy Rockstar jeans in black, a dark green tee shirt, and statement necklace that reminded me a lot of a darker opal.

I tried parting my hair different (read: butt part). Can't decide if I like it or not, let me know what ya think, ay?

Bestie's Hubby was doing a bit of playing with my camera while we were in the coffee drive-thru.

Aren't they cauuuute!?

We spent majority of the day laughing!

OOTD: Paisley Pop

My mother was in town visiting this weekend, which was awesome. I don't realize how much I miss my mom being around until she is here. On Saturday night, we went out to dinner and I thought you might want to see my fancy-shmancy new dress. I have already wore it twice and it is Tuesday.

My favorite part is that it is a dress within a dress: there is a navy under dress that has the sheer paisley print over the top. I'm a big fan of the maxi - they just flow into the wind! #geek

The teal braided hobo bag I purchased this fall but I liked the teal contrast with the multitude of blues, khakis and reds in the print.

Hope you guys had a great weekend. I know I did.

Yours xx

OOTD: The Beginning of Summer

It was 6 o'clock on a Thursday. It was dinner time. A friend and I went to Luciano's, an Italian restaurant downtown. It finally feels like summertime around here so I wanted to bring out the maxi dresses and denim jacket. My jacket was an investment piece from the Gap I purchased last year. I wear it about once a week during the summer time. One of the best purchases
I have ever made. The dress I purchased last year at the start of my big girl job, which 3 weeks ago I hit my 1 year anniversary -- super cool, totally adult. And the nude flats, well, they killed my feet so you don't want to know.

Laughing trying to dodge the wind and fix my hair. Yeah, typical me.

Makeup MAYhem: Sunday Funday

If you are a college student, this title means an entirely different thing that it is actually about... Sorry for being misleading, y'all.

Yesterday, I slept about 14 hours and did the same thing today. My body has gone into full recovery mode and I approve. Cheers, to being done with this sickness! *raises cup of tea*

I did a bit of shopping yesterday. (Damn you Sephora.) I did NEED that new lipstick. I wanted a fancy matte red color so I did oodles and oodles of testing on the back of my hand, which out of context of a  Sephora looked a bit odd. I did find a color... well, several, that I really loved.

Actual selfie in BITE Corvina

I went with a Sephora owned lip product: Cream Lip Stain in the color 003 Strawberry Kiss. I never thought I'd buy a Sephora brand makeup with all the choices but I do love the matte red look of it. I also discovered a new lip product brand: BITE. They make all organic lip products; their matte gray packaging was BEGGING me to purchase. I was debating between my purchased lip pencil and the NARS lip pencil. I ended up choosing the BITE one because of the moisturizing effect and lasting color power it had on my hand. I was already getting a red, so I went with a coral pink called Corvina. I'm obsessed.

Now a girl has got to wear something cute to do a bit of shopping. I spend my nights pinning outfit ideas and a couple of days ago I stumbled across a pin that I couldn't help but recreate for myself. I recently purchased a pair of boyfriend crop jeans for $6 (They are a bit too big but a wash and dry has changed that!). These jeans paired with my striped Gap shirt, camel flats and Fossil bag was a great outfit to do a bit of shopping.

The nail polish... which I have since lost in the depths of my apartment..is Essie's Style Hunter. The lipstick I wore was L'Oreal Paris Collection Privee by JLo. It is an all nude collection with colors tailored to celebrity's choices for nudes. I went with JLo because if you wanna look like anyone, it is obviously JLo.

Happy Sunday, y'all. Have a great kick off to your week!
Yours xx

Fashion Friday: A Day full of Coffee

I'm very aware it is not Friday... I had a terrible, awful, no good, very bad bout with sickness on Friday so I didn't get a chance to post.

Thursday, I spent my day with my friend, Meagan, who is back in town after college. We had a great time exploring Downtown. We stopped at a Josiah's coffeehouse, Queen City Bakery and several other shops.

And yep, I brought my camera.

Fashion Friday: My 23rd Year

It has been a long time since I have done a Fashion Friday. Um, like, a year. And today, I settled into my blogger zone and now, it's time for Fashion Friday!

Last week Friday was my 23rd birthday. But, I'm still 10 and watching Disney princess movies in my pajamas and telling my mother that the dress Belle is wearing is the most beautiful dress I have ever seen. But, I'm 23 and still doing that, so I guess, things don't ever really change, do they?? We all just get older, our problems still exist and their influence is only a major as a person lets them.... I'm getting off track!

I'm usually not a "Hey look what I got!" type person but I received an absolutely gorgeous Fossil bag and a wallet from my AWESOME SAUCE parents. Plus, I had to treat myself to the simply divine Naked 3 eye shadow palette from Urban Decay. My co-workers celebrated with cake and Starbucks bakery treats. (Yeah, they rock!) Safe to say I was spoiled rotten for my day!

Anyways, I do have a couple OOTD's to share with you from last week. Spring time has arrived here in SD. I know I'm not the only one who is hoping that it stays!!

I got this card in the mail from my parents. I chuckled! Can't go wrong with the road trip tunes to head home.

Cake and Starbucks treats!!

The bestie's met up! We are such party animals! ;)

I firmly believe that a great denim jacket can change a person's life. Mine is from the Gap  (similar)and I l-o-ve it! The standard black jeans from New York and Co with a casual white tee shirt makes for a really easy going outfit great for running some errands around town, which is exactly what I did. The scarf was in my March PopSugar box (Still absolutely in love with that thing!!); it is from Brokedown clothing Co., which specializes in creating unique vintage looking garments.

I wore this outfit to a high school basketball game -- yeah, it's been a while since I had been to one of those. I love the print of this  Billabong cardigan and it totally caught my eye in the shop window (similar)! I paired it with the sea green pocket tee from Target and dark jeans. The boots with the peek-a-boo gold heel are super convertible which is perfect for the much hated bleacher butt.

Or do... :D

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!! Enjoy the sunshine!

Yours xx
